Promoting Literacy through reading
The Power of Read-Alouds:
Read-alouds provide an excellent example of fluent, expressive reading, which helps children learn the rhythms and intonations of language. This in turn, helps them become better readers themselves. Read-alouds demonstrate the joy of reading for pleasure. By reading aloud to children, parents and educators can show them that reading can be enjoyable and rewarding and help foster a love of books that will last a lifetime.
Join us for our special Ramadan Read-Aloud – the best part? It can be done anywhere, anytime, and with anyone.
At MSSI, we recognize the profound impact that reading has on children
cognitive and emotional development. Through our dedicated Read Aloud program, we aim to
unlock the boundless potential of young minds by immersing them in the world of literature.
Read-aloud sessions serve as a powerful tool for nurturing fluent and expressive reading skills,
enabling children to grasp the nuances of language while fostering a love for storytelling.
By engaging children in themed readings aligned with calendar events such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and Ramadan,
we strive to promote cultural awareness and inclusivity.
Moreover, our program extends beyond the realms of literacy, addressing critical social issues
through carefully curated readings on topics such as disability awareness and advocacy.
Throughthese initiatives, we empower children to become lifelong learners and compassionate advocateswithin their communities.
